VITACEL 8, also known as GH-8, is the latest from the biochemist Robert Koch, DSc. This product provides the same Procaine complexes as the Vitacel 7 providing the same benefits as the Vitacel 7, enhanced by upgrading with some powerful natural antioxidants and free radical scavangers. The OPC antioxidants (oligoproanthocyanidins) in the Vitacel 8 are often referred to as Pycnogenol*. The antioxidant properties were discovered and patented by Jack Masquelier, PhD. Dr. Koch in his research has found the grape seed extract to be superior to the pine bark extract because of its higher polyphenol content, containing the gallate esters of the proanthocyanidin, which are not in the pine bark extract in any notable concentration. VITACEL 6 is a bisulfite free form of Vitacel 3 (GH-3). Vitacel 6 is manufactured by Nutritional Engineering, Ltd., using the Koch process that assures the content of the PBN factor (Procaine Based Nutriment or GH-3 factor) which factor is responsible for the benefits provided by GH-3. The bisulfite is removed in order to provide a GH-3 product for those individuals who are asthmatic or who have allergies that are triggered by bisulfites. Research has shown bisulfites (used to treat salad bar lettuce and vegetables as well as many dried fruits such as raisins, prunes, etc.) to be responsible for causing severe allergic reactions in some asthmatics and others who are allergic to a variety of things. VITACEL 5 is the formula developed in Germany from Ana Aslan's original GH-3, named Zell. Nutritional Engineering improves the original Zell formulation by using the Koch process to form the procaine HCl complexes (PBNs).
